About Dr. Rina Carlini, PhD

Dr. Rina Carlini is an accomplished scientist and technology business leader with over 25+ year professional career working in life sciences, digital health and cleantech sectors. Her professional training includes a Ph.D. degree (Science, University of Waterloo), and executive  management certificates in Business Model Innovation (Harvard) and AI for Business Strategy (MIT). Dr. Carlini also serves on several advisory boards including Concordia University’s School of Engineering, Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology, and Ontario Health Technology Advisory Committee.

Following her 15-year career at Xerox as Principal Scientist and Head of Nanotechnology Innovation, Rina began her entrepreneurial journey in 2012 with Optimal Innovation Group, a boutique Canadian technology innovation consulting firm. She also held special assignment roles as CEO of Haltech Innovation Centre, President at  Cloud DX, and VP Research & Innovation at Rapid Dose Therapeutics. The 2020 pandemic however made it painfully clear that the systemic gaps in healthcare services around the world had reduced the access to timely healthcare for women. In response, Rina launched Healthyher.Life in Canada as an AI-guided women’s hormonal health navigator platform that focuses on delivering reliable and affordable access to trusted hormonal health solutions, telehealth consultations and personalized patient support. Rina lives with her husband and two adult children, and is often providing career mentoring to young women in science and technology.
